All Coffee Services on campus are getting a GREEN makover! Hospitality Services at the University of Guelph is committed to providing environmentally friendly services to our customers. We have modified our existing Coffee Service menu to offer a more environmentally responsible service.How we are going GREEN . . .
- We are offering a GREEN alternative to china service. Royal Chinet tableware is made of natural pulp fiber that can biodegrade
- Our disposable cutlery, Polar Ecopro, is made from totally oxo-degradable polypropylene, specifically designed to degrade within 4 years, unlike traditional plastic cutlery
- Ecotainer hot drink cups are made from fully renewable resources and manufactured with a corn based liner to aid in decomposition. Certified by the Biodegradable Products Institute
- Environmentally sustainable Greeware cold drink cups are 100% compostable and manufactured out of NatureWorks PLA
- Our Green Shift napkins are made of 70% post-consumer material, 100% unbleached, 100% recyclable material
- We will continue to use Fair Trade coffee and Tea
- We will provide bulk milk, cream and sugar for all our services
- We will provide wooden stir sticks in place of plastic
- We will deliver services on foot when possible (based on location and number of people)
What YOU can do to make your service more GREEN . . .
- Suggest that your guests bring in their own reusable coffee mug and cold beverage bottle
- Order bulk juices in place of individual bottles
- Order bulk water in place of bottled water
- Order bulk tea in place of pre-packaged tea bags
- Make sure your guests are disposing of their waste properly
- Order your coffee service with our online ordering system
